B I O G R A P H Y
Ramsay Wood was born in Texas in 1943 into a diplomat's family and has lived in Vietnam, the Philippines, Scotland and France. He was a teenage apprentice in Saigon to the photographer Henri Huet. After leaving Harvard in 1964, he worked as a freelance photojournalist in Britain, East Africa, and Pakistan.
In 1971 he founded Frame Up Ltd, a wholesale picture-frame company which he ran from London with twenty cohorts until 1997. He was a founding member of the College of Storytellers in 1981, and chairman of the British charity Afghan Relief until 2000.
He lives in London where he teaches literacy and keyboard skills part-time to dyslexic children at Emerson House.
